For Him

Sew Crafty Friday

After realizing last night that I didn't have anything to share for Sew Crafty Friday, I decided to make up some quick dishcloths. I know I have heard people say they really like washing dishes with them, but I had never tried it. I have made some in the past, but I made them as washcloths. We used them to bathe, etc.

These dishcloths work up so incredibly fast. I made the one below in about 1/2 an hour while talking with my beloved. The reason it is still attached, is that I haven't decided whether or not to add a border to it. If I do add a border, do I do it in white, or with the same yarn? Any advice? What do you think will look better?

I did start up another one that I haven't finished yet. I think I will make up a few to have on hand.
So tell me, what have you done lately? You could share anything that you have sewed, knitted, crocheted, scrapbooked, etc. We like to see it all!! Just leave your blog linked up in the Mr. Linky below. Just leave a quick one sentence blurb on your blog leading people back here. The only reason I ask you to link back here is so that others may possibly be able to join. The more the merrier. If you don't have a blog, just email me your pictures, and I will post them here, like I do for Jude. Happy Crafting!!

I am still getting in the swing of Britney's new program. By next week I should have it down with a better timing. It's our short program yet, timing in at 3 hours and 20 minutes of activities. I'm still trying to figure out how much time is wasted transitioning from one activity to the next, as most of her activities this time around are very physical.

Nice job! I have a lot of these. I don't wash dishes with them, but I like to use them to wipe my counters. I feel it is more sanitary, because I can just throw them in the wash. And I like that they are quickly finished projects!
(I recently bought some Sugar N Cream yarn in Christmas Colors!)

Love that blue yarn! I think for these dishcloths, I would make the edging in the same color. I've done them both ways, but I like the variegated yarn with the edging the same color. For a solid color dishcloth, I think a contrasting color edging is pretty.

Neat Shereen! My Blim-Blam (grandmother) sent some crocheted and knitted dish towels when my dad visited, I LOVE using them! Tey seem to work so much more nicely!

Contrastin border sounds really neat :o) That is how I did the children's washclothes :o)

Blessings!

1/2 hr.! You're quick at crochet!
I too love to make and use these little washclothes. My favorite pattern to make, for the look and feel is a simple single/double pattern. just single double single double all through...makes it nice and nobbley, and finish with a simple border in the same crochet yarn.
It's fun to be able to experiment and create different ideas with these since they are nice and little.
Enjoy your dishclothes!

Proverbs 31 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Pr 31:10-31
