Sew Crafty Friday

My craft this week has been keeping this:

clean!!

Just when I thought things were getting back to normal. Elijah is just getting over salmonella. ;0( I racked my brain trying to figure out how he got it, as he was the only one. Whatever he had eaten, we have all eaten. I then remembered how. Whenever we go out, the walk from the front of the door to the car is always a chance for the boys to look for any sort of living creature to catch. They don't ever miss this opportunity. ;0) The other day we were on our way somewhere, all in the car, when Elijah mentioned that he caught a toad, and it peed on him. As soon as we got to our destination, I washed his hands, but I guess it was too late. I don't know if he accidentally put his fingers in his mouth or what, but.....

Thankfully he is feeling a lot better today. We had some scary nights of his fever shooting to 104. I know I owe some phone calls and emails. I will get to them shortly.

So tell me, what have you done lately? You could share anything that you have sewed, knitted, crocheted, scrapbooked, etc. We like to see it all!! Just leave your blog linked up in the Mr. Linky below. Leave a quick one sentence blurb on your blog leading people back here. The only reason I ask you to link back here is so that others may possibly be able to join. The more the merrier. If you don't have a blog, or are making it as a gift for someone, just email me your pictures, and I will post them here. Happy Crafting!!So tell me, what have you done lately? Oh my, Shereen, what a week! My guess would also be that the toad was the culprit.

Thanks for hosting. I am so tickled to be able to participate today.

God bless,
Mrs.T

So sorry your son was sick. I pray that he will completely well soon. How scary is that. It used to be that I thought all you could get from frogs were warts. LOL

Shereen, I work for a pediatrician and we recently had a 'mystery' salmonella case. I never thought you could get it from an animal, but now I know that's a possibility. Keep the hand sanitizer handy, and I hope your son doesn't ever get so sick again!

My children love to catch things anything they can. Our pediatrician gave them a good talking to about salmonella. She's got a house full of animal catching kids, so she's on the alert. It was nice to have someone else give my kids the warning. I hope Elijah feels much better soon!

Dear Shereen,

I've hardly been on the computer lately. But today I'm home with a very sick boy running very high fevers. It has seemed so strange, and haven't known what to think about what it might be. Then I thought to read your blog. Tuesday night my son was handling a western toad and three long toed salamanders. I think I know what is wrong with my son now. Thank you for mentioning your situation!

Proverbs 31 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Pr 31:10-31
